Students at Istanbul Kültür University who meet the required academic criteria have the opportunity to pursue a second undergraduate program simultaneously with their primary field of study. Through the Double Major Program, which supports interdisciplinary academic development, students in the Department of Economics can enhance their academic and professional qualifications by studying in a second field aligned with their interests and career goals.
Following a decision by the Istanbul Kültür University Senate in April 2013, it has been made possible for students to pursue a double major between all undergraduate programs at the university. Within this framework, joint curricula have been developed across departments as part of a model supported and recommended by the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
Students enrolled in a Double Major Program are not required to pay any additional tuition for the second program, in accordance with the provisions set out in the “İKÜ Çift Anadal ve Yandal Programının Esaslarına İlişkin Yönerge” At Istanbul Kültür University, students who are eligible to graduate from their primary major but have not yet completed their second major may be granted an additional period of up to two semesters, upon the decision of the faculty/school board of the second major program. The tuition fee for double major education, including the extension period, is determined by the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees has decided that no tuition will be charged for the two-semester extension period granted for Double Major and Minor Programs. Students who are unable to complete the second major within the extension period will be subject to the tuition conditions of their primary major.
